Saturday college football and we will see the Oklahoma State Cowboys take on the Oklahoma Sooners at Gaylord Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. The game has a start time of 3:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on Fox Sports 1. Current Vegas odds have Oklahoma listed as 21 point favorites, while the total is set at 60.5.  

Analysis:  The Oklahoma State Cowboys came into this season as one of the most inexperienced teams in the nation and it has translated to a 5-6 record so far, which includes a 3-5 mark in the Big 12. The Cowboys are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game, but just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a bye week and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Oklahoma. The offense is not the high powered edition of years past, as they come in ranked 95th in total yards, 58th in passing, 101st in rushing and 83rd in scoring (26.5 ppg). The defense has struggled for this team as well, ranking 97th in total yards allowed, 123rd vs the pass, 52nd vs the run and 99th in points allowed (31.7 ppg).

The Oklahoma sooners were one of the favorites to reach the final four coming into this year, but it hasn't panned out that way as they are just 8-3 on the year, which includes a 5-3 record in the Big 12. Oklahoma is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games in December and 18-7 ATS in their last 25 home games vs. a team with a losing road record, but just 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game. Oklahoma has been a very offensive team this year, ranking 20th i total offense, 74th in passing, 9th in rushing and 10th in scoring (39.3 ppg). The defense has also been good for this team, as they come in ranked 54th in total yards allowed, 117th vs the pass, 11th vs the run and 37th in points allowed (23.5 ppg).

Pick:  The Sooners have not had the kind of year they were hoping for, but a nice rout of their instate rival would help ease some pain before their bowl game. The Cowboys have really run out of gas down the stretch as they have lost their last 5 games, with each loss coming by at least 21 points. They have just been getting crushed of late and I see that continuing here vs a Sooner that has blown out the weaker teams in the conference this year.
