College football week 15 and the SMU Mustangs will travel to Rentschler Field to take on the Connecticut Huskies. The game has a start time of 12:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on CBSSN. Current Vegas odds have the Huskies listed as 12 point favorites, while the total is set at 43.5.  

Analysis:  The SMU Mustangs have had just a horrible year as the come in with an 0-11 record on the year, which includes an 0-5 mark on the road and an 0-7 record in the AAC. The Mustangs are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game, 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a SU loss of more than 20 points. SMU has the worst offense in the nation, ranking 127th in total offense, 113th in passing, 124th in rushing and 128th in scoring (9.6 ppg). The defense is also among the worst in the nation, ranking 127th in yards allowed, 121st vs the pass, 118th vs the run and 127th in points allowed (43.3 ppg). 

The Connecticut Huskies have also had a rough year as they are just 2-9 overall, which includes a 1-6 record in the AAC and a 2-4 record at home. The Huskies are 16-7 ATS in their last 23 home games vs. a team with a losing road record, but just 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games following a ATS loss and 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game. The Huskies come in with the 3rd worst offense in the nation, ranking 126th in total yards, 109th in passing, 123rd in rushing and 126th in scoring (15.1 ppg). The Defense for the Huskies has been decent, ranking 53rd in yards allowed, 43rd vs the pass, 61st vs the run and 89th in points allowed (30.1 ppg).   

Pick: This game will feature two pathetic offenses which haven’t really moved the ball on anyone this year. The Mustangs come in ranked 127th in total offense and 128th in scoring offense, putting up a mere 9.8 ppg. For the huskies they come in ranked 123rd in the nation in total offense and 126th in scoring, putting up just 15.1 ppg. Now I know that the Mustang defense has been horrible this year and the UConn defense is below average, but these two offenses have faced bad defenses all year and were still unable to score much. Very hard to see more than 35 points being scored in this game.
