College football week 13 and the Stanford Cardinal will travel to California Stadium to take on the California Golden Bears. The game has a start time of 4:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on the Fox Sports 1. Current Vegas odds have the Cardinal listed as 6 point favorites, while the total is set at 56.5.  

Analysis:  The Stanford Cardinal come in off a tough home loss to the Utah Utes. The Cardinal were expected to battle the Ducks in the Pac-12 north, but that hasn't worked out as they are now 5-5 on the year overall and just 3-4 in conference play. Stanford is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game, but also 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games. Stanford is not a good offensive team, ranking 85th in total yards, 62nd in passing, 89th in rushing and 99th in scoring (23.9 ppg). On defense they have been very good, ranking 4th in total yards allowed, 6th vs the pass, 9th vs the run and 7th in points allowed (16.5 ppg).     

The California Golden Bears had just 1 win last year, but they come into this won at 5-5 and know that a win here would make them bowl eligible. Cal also went 0-9 last in the Pac-12 and right now they stand in with a 3-5 mark in conference play. The Bears are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall, but  8-22 ATS in their last 30 games following a S.U. loss and 3-12 ATS in their last 15 home games. California is a very strong offensive team that ranks 13th in total yards, 4th in passing, 90th in rushing and 9th in scoring (40.7 ppg). The defense has not been so good for this team as they come in ranked 127th in yards allowed, 128th vs the pass, 41st vs the run and 122nd in points allowed (39.7 ppg).

Pick: Huge rivalry game here and that has me looking at a Cal team that has played inspired ball of late and are taking on a Stanford team that just has not played well down the stretch. The Stanford defense has been solid this year, but they seem to be wearing down, as they have allowed 26.3 ppg in their last 3 games, while also allowing 25.3 ppg on the road. Now they face a California offense that has put up 38.7 ppg in their last 3 and 39.2 ppg at home. The Stanford offense is not the same as last year and I just don’t see them scoring enough points to win this one.
