NFL Free Pick Cleveland Browns vs Tennessee Titans

NFL week 5 and the Cleveland Browns will travel to Nashville, Tennessee to take on the Tennessee Titans. The game has a start time of 1:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on CBS. Current Vegas odds have the Titans listed as 1 point favorites, while the total is set at 44.

Analysis:  The Cleveland Browns are just 1-2 on the year, but they have been very competitive so far as all 3 of their games have been decided by 3 points or less. The Browns are 16-5 ATS on the road vs a team with a losing home record and they are 5-0 ATS with rest vs a sub .500 team. Brian Hoyer has been solid for the Browns so far, as he has a 97.7 QBR, while throwing for 724 yards, with 3 TDs and zero INTs. Looks like the brass made the right decision on who to start this year. He has helped the Browns rank 13th in the league in total offense, 15th in passing offense, 10th in rushing and 13th in scoring (24.7 ppg). The defense for the Browns has not been so god, as they come in ranked 30th in total defense, 27th vs the pass, 29th vs the run and 23rd in points allowed (25.7 ppg).

The Tennessee Titans have not had a god start to their year, as they come in having lost 3 in a row to drop to 1-3 on the year. Their last two games were both blowout losses as they were beat by 26 points vs Cincinnati and 24 points vs the Colts. The Titans are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs a team off a bye week, but they are also 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games at home. Jack Locker is expected to return after missing last week with a wrist injury. Still ha hasn't been that effective when in there, with a 70.8 QBR. He has thrown for 685 yards with 3 TDs and 4 INT on the year. Overall the Titans come in ranked 26th in total offense, 28th in passing, 17th in rushing and 30th in scoring (15 ppg), while on defense they are rank 17th overall, 10th vs the pass, 22nd vs the run and 28th in points allowed (27.5 ypg).

Pick: Gonna go with the Browns, who have been playing very well this year and have had the week off, while Tennessee was getting blasted last week at Indianapolis. Brian Hoyer has jump started this Browns offense this year and the Tennessee defense is bad, while their offense just can't score right now. Not a good combo. Take the Browns to get the job done here.
