NFL Week 4 and the Tennessee Titans will travel to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana to take on the Indianapolis Colts. The game has a start time of 1:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on CBS. Current Vegas odds have the Colts listed as 7.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 46.
Analysis: The Tennessee Titans got off to a 3-1 start last year, but then the wheels fell off and they went just 4-10 the rest of the way, finishing at 7-9. The Titans will be an improved team this year, but not sure it will show up in wins and losses. This year has been an up and down one for the Titans already, as they won 26-10 at Kansas City to open the season, but then lost 26-10 at home vs Dallas and then 33-7 on the road vs Cincinnati last week. Last year the Titans were 19th in the league in scoring, at 22.6 ppg, while also ranking 22nd in total yards (336.9.8 ypg), 21st in passing (218.5 ypg) and 14th in rushing (118.4 ypg). Very average offense at best. This year they are a bad offensive team as they have scored just 14.3 ppg and 348.3 ypg thus far. The defense for the Titans has been solid as they rank 4 th in total yards (304.3 ypg), 2nd vs the pass (170 ypg) and 19th in points allowed (23 ppg).
The Indianapolis Colts had a very nice 11-5 year, which saw them easily win the AFC South. Now they are looking to build on that momentum, but the rest of the division is closing in on them so they may take a small step back here. The Colts fell behind big vs the Broncos in their opener, but made a game of it in the 2nd half and ended up losing the game by just 7 points. Then they had big lead vs Philadelphia, but lost that game as well. Last week they took on a weak Jags team and waxed hem by a 44-7 score. Despite the 1-2 mark, the Colts are 2 nd in the league in total offense (426 ypg), 3 rd in passing offense (303.7 ypg) and 3 rd in scoring (31.7 ppg). The defense has not been so good for this team as they come in ranked 29 th in yards allowed (387.7 ypg) and 25 th in points allowed (26 ppg)
Pick: I do like the Colts here but not overly sold on their defense, even if Locker is out. So I will recommend a 6 point teaser making the Colts 1.5 favorites and also teasing Pittsburgh down to -1.5. The Colts have look very solid on offense this year, while Tennessee has averaged just 14.3 ppg. The Colts are at home and desperate for a win and should win by no less than a FG at least. Same with Pittsburgh.
