France vs Switzerland World Cup Odds

2014 World Cup Draw: Most Underrated Squads in FIFA's Global Attraction

France and Switzerland will match up today in the second game of their World Cup. The World Cup Oddsfor the match have Italy favored to pick up their second win of the World Cup.

Both France and Switzerland have raced out to victories in their opening matches. Now they sit atop the Group E with three points each. France earned a 3-0 victory over Honduras in a dominant match. Switzerland had a much tougher time picking up their three points as the Swiss bested Ecuador 2-1. That Switzerland match had a controversial ending as Haris Seferovic scored in the third minute of added time.

The Swiss' 2-1 win puts them in a very nice position. Even if they lose this game against France, they still have Honduras to play in their final match. The last three matches between these two clubs has ended in draws, most recently in the 2006 FIFA group stage played in Germany. Switzerland's last win over France came in 1992.

This looks like it could be a draw. Because they beat Ecuador the Swiss have to be feeling very good about themselves. They have a young squad, but a squad that has a lot of talent. We don't expect them to shut out the French in this matchup, but offensively we think Switzerland can play at a high level as well.

But, a victory by France would pretty much ensure them a spot in the Round of 16 before having to play their final match. This could be a tight matchup between these two clubs, but France has what it takes to get to the next level. We expect them to pick up a 2-1 victory in this matchup and all but punch their tickets to the knockout stage.
