NCAA Basketball Picks Oklahoma Sooners vs Kansas Jayhawks

College basketball on Monday night and we will see the Oklahoma Sooners travel to Lawrence, Kansas to take on the Kansas Jayhawks. The game has a start time of 9:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Vegas odds have the Jayhawks listed as 11.5 point favorites, while the total sits at 155.

Analysis: The Oklahoma Sooners Come in with a solid 20-7 record overall and a 9-5 mark with in the Big 12. They have won 3 of their 4 games and are seeking revenge for a 7 point home loss to the Jayhawks earlier in the year. Oklahoma has one of the best offenses in the nation, scoring 82.8 ppg to rank 12th, but they are only an average shooting team, hitting just 45.2% of their shots, to rank 123rd in the nation. The Sooners have 5 players that average in double figures, led by Buddy Hield, who averages 16.7 ppg. Cameron Clark is 2nd t 15.2 ppg, while Ryan Spangler leads the team in rebounding at 9.4 rpg, and is also 5th on the team in scoring at 10.3 ppg. Sefense is not were the Sooners have excelled, but the pace they play doesn't really have much room for defense. The Sooners allow 76.8 ppg to rank 317th in the nation.

The Kansas Jayhawks come in at 21-6 overall and 12-2 in the Big 12. They have won 3 in a row and are 7-0 at home in the conference, winning all but one game by double digits. Kansas is a strong offensive team that averages 790.7 ppg, to rank 26th in the nation, while also ranking 2nd in the nation in shooting, hitting 50.3% of their shots. The offense is led by Andrew Wiggins, who averages 16.4 ppg, while Perry Ellis (13.4 ppg) Joel Embiid (11.1 ppg) and Wayne Selden (10.1) also average in double digits for the Jayhawks. The defense has not been great for the Jayhawks as they have allowed 69.1 ppg (146th), but teams don't shoot well vs them, hit just 40.9% of their shots which is 69th in the nation.  The Jayhawks are looking to clinch at least a share of the Big 12 crown for the 10th consecutive season.

Pick: I am looking at taking the Over in this one. Both teams play an uptempo style and both teams have the ability to score in the 80's every time they hit the floor. We also have an Oklahoma team that plays no defense at all and a Kansas team tyhat can give up some points in an utempo game. I look for this game to be played in the 160's.
