The 56th running of the Daytona 500 is just over a week away as the famed event opens the new Sprint Cup season on Sunday, February 23rd at the Daytona International Speedway. "The Great American Race" is scheduled to get underway at 1:00pm ET on FOX. The latest 2014 Daytona 500 Odds release from Sportsbook.ag would indicate a wide open event as Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, and Kyle Busch are all three favored to win next Sunday's race. The trio, who have combined to win Daytona four times (Johnson twice, Kenseth twice), are each priced at +1000 odds ($100 wins $1000).
Johnson, Kenseth, and Busch should not get too comfortable, though, not if the offshore bookmaker is correct anyway. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Brad Keselowski, and Kevin Harvick are drawing strong consideration as well, coming in at +1200 odds apiece. And there is just over a handful of drivers listed at +1500 to win this year's Daytona 500, including Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart, and Jeff Gordon.
