Analysis: The Houston Texans have had a dismal year, as they are 2-11 and have lost their last 11 in a row. Kubiak has now been fired and DC Wade Philips steps in to lead this team the rest of the way. Since throwing for 822 yards with seven touchdowns and no interceptions in his first three starts, Case Keenum has thrown for 770 yards with two scores and four picks over his last four. His best performance his year came when he went 20 of 34 for a career-high 350 yards with three touchdowns against the Colts. Andre Johnson had nine catches for 229 yards - the second-highest yardage total of his career - with three touchdowns in that meeting and he now has 46 receptions for 722 yards and six scores in his last five games against Indianapolis. Defense is still the strength of this team as they come in ranked 3rd overall and 2nd vs the pass, but they do allow 27.6 ppg, which is 27th in the league.
The Indianapolis Colts have clinched the AFC South, thanks to Tennessee's loss to Denver last week, but still they are not playing their best heading into the final three weeks of the season, going just 2-3 in their last 5 games. The Colts have gotten off to many slow starts of late as they have been outscored by 114-24 points in the first half of their last 6 games and they haven't scored an offensive TD in the first half over that stretch. After throwing for an average of 237.0 yards with two touchdowns and five interceptions in his previous four games, Andrew Luck went 29 of 46 for 326 yards and matched a career high with four TDs against Cincinnati. Luck has not thrown an interception while tossing seven touchdowns in three career meetings with the Texans, while TY Hilton has 14 catches for 310 yards and five touchdowns in three career games against the Texans. The Colts' 11 straight home wins over the Texans have come by an average of 13.9 points.
Pick: I like the Texans here, as I feel they are in a very good spot. The Colts may be just a bit flat after grabbing the South crown last week and they will be taking on a Houston squad that wants to end this losing skid. also getting out on the road should help ease some pressure from this team, plus Wad Philips has made it known that he wants the head job here, so you know he will go all out to win this one. The Colts have struggled down the stretch, winning just 2 of their last 5 and really have won the AFC South crown by default. This is not a team that is all that good as they are below average on offense and even worse on defense. I look for Houston to be fired up for this one and get the outright win here.
