College Football Odds Arkansas Razorbacks vs Mississippi Rebels

SEC football on Saturday afternoon and we will see the Arkansas Razorbacks travel to Oxford, Mississippi to take on the Mississippi Rebels. The game will televised on SEC Network and has a start time of 12:20 pm (Eastern). Vegas odds have Mississippi listed as 16.5 point favorites, while the total sits at 64.5.

Analysis: The Brett Bielema era got off to a solid start with wins in each of its first three games, but since then things have not gone well fr them with 6 losses in a row, culminating in a 35-17 home defeat at the hands of Auburn last Saturday. The Razorbacks have played a brutal schedule, as each of their last five games have been against ranked teams. Offense has been a major problem for the Hogs this year, as they rank last in the SEC in scoring with just 20.0 ppg. It has been even worse of late as they have faced 4 elite defenses, putting up only 8.5 points in those four games. The quarterback play has simply not been good at all. Brandon Allen has 9 TD passes to his credit, but he is completing only 45% of his throws for 1,067 yards with 7 INTs. Javontee Herndon leads the team in receptions (24), yards (377) and touchdowns (four), while Alex Collins is fourth in the SEC in rushing with 889 yards. On defense the Hogs allow 31.1 ppg, although its average yardage allowance (385.8 ypg) ranks eighth in the league.

Ole Miss also started the campaign hot with three wins out of the gate, allowing it to climb into the Top-25, but ithen 3 straight losses had them tumbling out of the Top 25. The Rebels have gotten back on track in recent weeks, however, with home wins over LSU on Oct. 19 (27-24) and Idaho on Oct. 26 (59-14). Bo Wallace leads this offense and completes better than 62% of his passes for 1,976 yards, and he has accounted for 14 touchdowns (three rushing) while tossing only 3 INTs. Jeff Scott (434 yards, two TDs) is the team's leading rusher, but is listed as questionable for this contest, meaning I'Tavius Mathers (326 yards, two TDs) and Jaylen Walton (321 yards, five TDs) could continue to see extended action. For the most part, the Rebels defense has been able to support their productive offense, allowing 25.6 ppg while ranking sixth in the SEC in total defense (379.4 ypg).

Pick: Gotta think that the Rebels can just roll over this Arkansas team. The Razorbacks have lost 6 games in a row, with each of their last 4 losses being by 18 points or more. They have been outscored by 20 and 52 points in their two SEC road games and taking on the Rebels in Oxford will be no picnic as the Rebels have outscored opponents by 15.8 ppg on their home field this year. Ole Miss has averaged 38.8 pg at home, while Arkansas has averaged a mere 11.3 ppg on the road. Nuff said. Ole Miss big here.
