College Football Odds Ohio State vs Purdue

No. 4 Ohio State will face Big Ten Leaders Division rival Purdue this weekend as it attempts to keep pace with the likes of Alabama and Oregon in the BCS standings. Saturday's game between the Buckeyes and Boilermakers is scheduled to kickoff at 12:00pm ET at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana; the game will be carried live on the Big Ten Network. College Football Odds have Ohio State listed as a heavy -32 against the spread favorite and the Over/Under set at 57 points.

Ohio State, perhaps sensing the precarious nature of its current BCS position, brought the pain to Penn State at the Horseshoe last weekend.

The Buckeyes, who were lined as a 15.5 point home favorite, obliterated the Nittany Lions and the spread by a score of 63-14. The win, which improved Ohio State's record to 8-0, saw Urban Meyer's squad post 32 first downs and 686 total yards while averaging 10.7 yards per pass and eight yards per carry.

The only thing that suggests the Buckeyes play with less intensity tomorrow is the giant 'P' on the Boilermakers helmets. Purdue, at 1-6, hardly justifies any sort of extra motivation; however, it may still be looking at the kind of beating Penn State absorbed.

With Alabama, Oregon, and Florida State all undefeated and ahead of Ohio State in the BCS rankings, the Buckeyes only shot, outside of a loss from two of those teams, at procuring a shot in the BCS National Championship Game is style points.

The only way to earn style points against a team as inept as the current version of Boilermakers is to pound them into the ground. Several teams lesser than Ohio State have already done the same thing as Purdue fell 42-7 to Cincinnati, 41-10 to Wisconsin, 55-24 to Northern Illinois, and 44-7 to Nebraska.

The Boilermakers have played the Buckeyes tough the last two seasons, but that should only add more fuel to Ohio State's fire.

Notable Trends: Purdue is 0-5 both straight up and against the spread in its last five games as a home underdog against a Big Ten opponent.

College Football Odds Ohio State vs Purdue:

Ohio State Buckeyes -32 (-110), Over 57 (-110)

Purdue Boilermakers +32 (-110), Under 57 (-110)
