The Miami Dolphins are operating on short rest, but it is the NFL preseason so no one really cares, least of all their opponent tonight, the Jacksonville Jaguars. The two Florida based squads are scheduled to kick things off at 7:30pm ET at EverBank Field. 2013 NFL Odds for the exhibition fracas have Miami listed as a slight -1 against the spread favorite. Jacksonville is drawing +108 moneyline odds to hand the Dolphins their second setback of the preseason while the Over/Under is set at 35.5 points.

Miami started last weekend's preseason opener in shaky fashion as two first half quarterback turnovers, one by Ryan Tannehill and the other by Matt Moore, led to a quick 17-0 advantage for the Cowboys.

The Dolphins did rally in the final frame, scoring 17 fourth quarter points; however, it proved too little too late as Dallas held on to win 24-20.

Miami finished the game with 24 first downs and 421 total yards as Moore completed 19-of-29 passes for 238 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Defensively the Dolphins held the Cowboys to 266 yards, but they did give up 170 yards on the ground on just 34 carries.

Miami may not have to worry about the rushing threat as much tonight with Maurice Jones-Drew sitting out this evening's contest. New Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley probably wants to focus more on Blaine Gabbert anyway so he can figure out exactly what he has in the former first round draft pick.

Gabbert, who is listed as a co-starter with former Dolphin Chad Henne, will get the start tonight, but he is not scheduled to play more than a quarter. He will have a couple of speedy new weapons to throw the ball to tonight in rookies Ace Sanders and Denard Robinson.

With Justin Blackmon recovering from groin surgery and being suspended the first four games of the season (substance abuse violation) one of those players, Sanders in particular, may have an opportunity to crack the starting lineup. Both wide outs will need to perform well in the preseason in order to do that, though.
