NFL Sunday Jacksonville Jaguars at Green Bay Packers: Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Hi-res-154613389_crop_650x440

NFL Week 8 continues on Sunday and we will see the Jacksonville Jaguars travel north to take on the Green Bay Packers. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM (Eastern) start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have Green Bay favored by 14.5 points while the total sits at 45.5.  Currently 78% of the Public is on Green Bay, while 83% is on the Over. Find out what side the Public is taking on all the games by clicking HERE.

Free Analysis:  The Green Bay Packers have put together back to back wins to get back to the right side of .500 but they are still in third place in the NFC North which is shaping up as one of the toughest conferences in the NFL. Green Bay, which returns home after winning two of three on the road, will be without safety Charles Woodson. The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year suffered a broken left clavicle in last week's 30-20 triumph at St. Louis and is expected to miss at least six weeks. Green Bay's passing attack is in good hands with Rodgers, who has completed 71.4 percent of his passes while throwing 16 touchdowns and only two interceptions over his last four games. He finished 30 of 37 for 342 yards and three TDs - two to Randall Cobb - in last week's win. The Packers' ground game hasn't nearly been as explosive, and suffered a hit with an injury to Cedric Benson on Oct. 7 in a loss at Indianapolis. Alex Green ran 20 times for only 35 yards last week and is averaging 2.4 yards per carry in his two starts. Jordy Nelson is questionable for this one but he leads the Packers receivers with 40 catches and five touchdowns, Randall Cobb has 37 catches and three touchdowns, and James Jones has27 catches and seven touchdowns. The Green Bay defense allows 22.1 points per game, 109.9 rushing yards, and 232.4 passing yards with nine interceptions and 24 sacks. A.J. Hawk has 56 tackles, Clay Mathews has nine sacks, and Casey Heyward has four interceptions.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were already having a tough season but they enter this game after a wave of big injuries. Blaine Gabbert is out for this one and he is replaced by Chad Henne who has completed 50 percent of his passes this year but he has plenty of experience as a starter in the NFL. The Jags passing game has been suffering anyways as Marcedes Lewis has 17 catches and two touchdowns, Justin Blackmon has 14 catches, and Laurent Robinson has just nine catches. The Jaguars, who have lost three in a row, will also not have Maurice Jones-Drew in the lineup as the running back sprained his left foot on the first play of last Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss at Oakland and is out indefinitely. Defensively Jacksonville allows 27.3 points per game, 147.3 rushing yards, and 264.5 passing yards with four interceptions and just five sacks. Paul Posluszny and Russell Allen each have 51 tackles and Dawan Landry has 38 but the Jaguars simply need to get better on both sides of the ball.

Free Pick: I will go with Green Bay in this one. The Packers are starting to play really well right now after crushing Houston and then beating the upstart Rams in BB weeks. Aaron Rodgers is starting to put up big numbers and It will be hard for the Jags defense to stop them in this one. Jacksonville is 24th vs the pass and 29th vs the rush, so really the last offense they want to see is this one. Offensively the Jags are the worst team in the league and just won’t come up with enough points to keep this one close.
