Normal 0 THERE'S MORE TO BASEBALL THAN PITCHING AND STREAKS Normal 0 © Robert Crowne & Assoc., July 9, 2011 I am forever amazed at how many baseball bettors rely solely on pitching statistics to make their selections. Then, when the better pitcher loses, those same bettors wonder why. Like every other sport, baseball has an offense as well as a defense, and a team behind the... Read more

FAVORITE PHOBIA

06/14/2010 3:17 PM ·

Favorite Phobia is a form of psychosis that afflicts otherwise reasonable and rational bettors during baseball season. Victims of the dread Favorite Phobia are filled with fear and loathing at the mere thought of a money line set at 2-1 or higher. As the line on a favorite rises above –160, sufferers begin to shake. The closer the line gets to 2-1 the worse the shaking becomes. At –200, the Favorite Phobic hits the wall... Read more

I'm not sure what happened, but I posted this hours ago, and when I came back to look at it, only three people had managed to view it and the rest were apparently getting a 404 Error Page. I could not get the original post to show up no matter what I did. I had to delete the first article, then wash the text in Notepad, and then repost the whole thing. Hopefully it will now show up properly. I blame this all on Bill Gates... Read more

Once upon a time, a long time ago, in the land of Las Vegas, far far away, when Pregame was just a fantasy in RJ's head (when you are surrounded by show girls all day, you fantasize about sports websites), there was something called the PLUS10 Club. Rumor has it the Plus10 still exists. Check it out. Way back then I was given a free $50 account as a promotion by an offshore sports book. I was giving a free pick everyday... Read more

Last night, the Wall Street Bankers Syndicate had their first big play in baseball. Selections given to monthly and season subscribers at Pregame, and to my Crowne Club members, are rated from 1/2 unit to a very top of 2 Units . The Syndicate play last night was big enough for us to rate it a very top 2 Units. It was an easy 5-1 win with the Dodgers. They came with it at 7:20 PM Eastern. Subscribers and Crowne Club members... Read more

10 SIGNS THE ECONOMY IS IN TROUBLE 1. Your bank has stopped giving away toasters, and is now selling them. 2. When you move, your house sells for less than your dining room set. 3. Your mortgage company is offering you free gifts if you will just make your mortgage payment. 4. You bought $200 of your local bank's stock, and they just nominated you to the Board of Directors. 5. Your balance at the gas pump is higher than... Read more

Tampa Bay -170 over Philadelphia (Shields over Myers) Last night I gave you a win with Philadelphia as pick. The professional sports handicapper has no team loyalty. My loyalty is to whichever team handicaps to win the game I'm handicapping. Tonight that's Tampa Bay as a -170 favorite. I don't have time to be funny or run through every statistic tonight. We have the first day of Breeders' Cup action coming up tomorrow... Read more

We had some terrible luck. If you bought my package for the Monday game, you know I picked Denver, and most of the analysis was based on Jay Cutler vs. Matt Cassel at QB and the comparative strengths of the offensive line. We were completely correct about the weakness of New England's offensive line, as indicated by the huge six sacks of Matt Cassel. The second part of our reasoning for the pick was Jay Cutler. Cutler... Read more

PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL BETTING

08/19/2008 10:39 AM ·

Rule: To maximize your win you must risk more on the better bets and less on the worse bets and nothing on the bad bets. You cannot expect to win by risking larger sums on poorer bets, and lesser sums on better bets. Most bettors bet baseball by risking whatever is necessary to return their normal win amount. For example, if a bettor normally bets $110 to win $100 in sports with a point line, he will bet to win the same... Read more

WHY I WANT TO BE RICH

08/07/2008 11:39 AM ·

DOUBLE HEADER - A POEM DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE, DOUBLE YOUR FUN, GETTING HEAD FROM TWO IS BETTER THAN ONE. When I was young, a good friend and I would discuss why we wanted to be rich and how rich we wanted to be. The one reason to be rich that our mid-20's glands caused us to agree on was that being rich meant having a huge $250,000 yacht. We could dock our yachts at resorts around the world and sit on the deck waiting... Read more
