WTA - U.S. Open Winner - Ekaterina Makarova (+10000)
Once again, just a crazy line on EMak that I'm more than happy to invest in. Consider this. Since the beginning of the 2012 season, EMak has a 27-7 record on Grand Slam hard courts(Aussie & U.S. Opens). She's made the QF or better in 5 of the 7 tourneys, including SF appearances in this year's Aussie Open and last year's U.S. Open. What's most impressive to me is who she's lost to in those 7 matches. Serena twice, Sharapova three times and Na Li twice. To sum that up, her only hard court grand slam losses in the last 3+ years have come against the two best players in the world and a former world #1. EMak has a remarkable 32-6 career record vs. players outside the T10 on grand slam hard courts, including the 22-0 mark since 2012. It's no secret that EMak prefers hard courts and she especially likes the DecoTurf at Flushing Meadows. In addition to her SF appearance in the singles last year, she WON the women's doubles title with Elena Vesnina. That followed up a QF appearance in the singles in 2013 which followed up WINNING the 2012 mixed doubles title with Bruno Soares. Clearly, she's comfortable in NY.
5D has had their Open futures up for at least a week now, maybe 2. EMak opened at 85/1. I'm glad I was waiting on Pinny to open their lines. Well, they still haven't but I can tell you this. Bet365 has been 50/1 since I noticed they had opened lines which was about 2 weeks ago. No one really knows what these future lines are gonna do a month out but it's hard for me to believe that you're gonna be able to do any better than 100/1 come late August.
