Ok... here me out. I know Richie is a bad man and notorious for being evil but here is something we should think about.
If I'm one of Martin's teammates, I would be very mad at both of these men. Here is why I would be pissed at Martin.
1- Why the heck couldn't you go to a teammate, coach, or a staff member of Miami to deal with this issue? Why did he have to leave the facility crying? I don't care how bad the hazing was...keep the problem contained. Now you have your teammates that have to deal with the media 24 hours a day. Talk about an excuse to distract a team during the week....you got one now.
Don't get me wrong, the voice message was cruel, but you mean to tell me a grown man and a professional athlete would break down so bad that he didn't have the courage to talk to a teammate, coach or even stand up for himself?
The sad part about this now...is that ESPN and every other network is going to stir the pot and try and find anything to promote more drama and leads about this.
I feel bad for Martin now. I would be nervous and scared to come back to the team now. I'm afraid there will be players that won't accept him back for how he handled the situation.
I am not on anyone's side. I just wanted to take time to think about the other side of the story. Instead of feeling sorry for Martin, I wanted to discuss some other sides to this story.
Thoughts?
