I excluded the passing stats for a number of reasons
1. Tomlin noted in the 1st half of the NE game that the communication between the sideline and his players was continuously interrupted by the NE broadcast - although the Steelers chose to play down the issue and not make a formal complaint to the NFL anyone watching that game noticed the effect it had on the Steelers who were on the field; multiple times players were missing assignments; too many players and once not enough players were the field - you have to place weight on this.
2. as noted SF had no option but to throw in the 2nd half after the Steelers built up such a huge lead; prevent and dime defenses were the order of the game.
Now i am not saying the Steelers by any metric are an amazing secondary, but i will be willing to say they are about middle of the road;
I just can't see how the Rams will keep up offensively. The Redskins gave the Steelers the playbook on how to defeat the Rams defense; a steady dose of slants, screens to attack those blitzes and bring in an extra lineman - Jordan Reed TE blocked when needed; Miller is able of the same; those Rams blitzes can be countered by screens to Bell
