In Today's Big Conversation, Scott and Teddy take a look at who they are buying or selling in the NFL after two weeks.
Teddy starts a team that he feels you should sell high with. The first is the Carolina Panthers, who beat Tampa Bay (Big Whoop) and Detroit, but the game vs the Lions may have been more of that team beating themselves. The Panthers play Pittsburgh this week and after that the schedule gets tough and could have them going 1-6 in their next 7 games. Teddy isn't convinced that Newton is right so far. The front 7 is solid, but their pass defense will cost them at some point.
Are the Texans a Buy or Sell team? Scott feels they are a slight sell at this point and Teddy agrees. Houston is 2-0, but faced RG3 in a mistake filled game and then faced a high school team in the Raiders.
Teddy next has a sell team and that is the San Francisco 49ers. Normally preseason means very little unless you are making the same mistakes during the regular season that you did in August. The Niners fit the bill here as their first team offense was just horrid in the preseason and it hasn't looked any better in the real games. Scott agrees with this and had stated the same thing in a First Preview show over the summer. The decisions from Kaepernick have been really bad and they will continue to cost his team.
The Broncos 0-2 spread record tells Teddy that they are a hard team for him to buy. Their offense is very good, but it is the defensive struggles have kept them from their two covers.
The Buy & Sell segment will be a weekly feature on Friday's.
