Dallas Mavericks (49-33, 23-18 away) @ San Antonio Spurs -7 -120 (62-20, 32-9 home)
(Spurs Lead Series 1-0)
I recommend a play on the San Antonio Spurs minus the points (-7) in the NBA Playoffs tonight. I bought this one down a half a point from -7.5 on Monday. I see alot of -8′s at the time of this post. I’d wait to see if you can get a -7.5 but this is still playable at -8. I usually don’t lay this many points but in my opinion this is the right spot to do so. There’s alot of chatter about how bad of a game Dirk had in Game 1 and it’s well deserved. There is also talk about how the Mavs didn’t play well and still almost won, even with Dirk having one of the worst games of his career. What I do not here much talk about is how the Spurs bench other than Manu Ginobili was absolutely non existent. Patty Mills and Marco Belinelli had 2 points combined and 3 point sniper and 2013 NBA Finals superstar, Danny Green, had 0 points! That is unheard of for a Spurs game and is something that is definitely going to change in Game 2. I expect the Spurs to play a little looser and expect them to run and gun on the Mavs, kind of beat the Mavs at their own game. I expect a ton of three’s attempted and made three’s in this game, especially from Danny Green, Patty Mills, and Marco Belinelli. I expect Dirk to have a better game but the supporting cast of the Mavs won’t be up to the task at hand on the road in this tough environment. The Mavs had a chance to steal game 1 with the Spurs looking a little out of sync. You better believe the NBA Coach of the Year, Greg Popovich, let his team know about that and look for them to hear his message loud and clear and really take it to the Mavs. I expect the Spurs to run away with this game and make a statement to the poor Mavericks that they really do not have a chance in this series, which is why I am making the San Antonio Spurs minus the points (-7) my NBA Playoffs Play of the Day.
