One item leaped off the page today at me. It was on this date back in that Cotton Fitzsimmons of the Phoenix Suns became the sixth coach in league history to record 800 wins. I've been over a lot of this before so I won't go into great detail. I knew Cotton growing up in Moberly, Mo. He coached the Jr College Greyhounds to two national titles before moving on with his career. I have nothing but great things to say about this man. I learned about the game from this man. My home was just a couple of blocks from the school. I spend hours watching him work the squad and he was amazingly patient and seemed to love teaching the game. He spent hours with my friends and I showing us fundamentals and how he thought the game should be played properly. He went on to enjoy a fine career in the NBA but often returned to Moberly and hooked up with old friends on reunion weekends. Cotton acted the exact same way then as he did back in the 60's when he was coaching the Hounds. Outgoing and friendly as any person walking the planet. Rest in peace my friend. I was blessed to have had you in my life.
Okay, a free release. Going to suggest a small wager on Minnesota tuesday night against the Seminoles. I do apologize for not being around the forum quite as much as normal as I've been busy with the tourney's. Not making any excuse, I just have to prioritize and my work for my clients always takes front and center.
Now, on the business side. I am opening myself up for a world of abuse but you have to have some hard bark to survive in this business long term. I do. I have not had a game of the year of any type since back on jan 19th when I had the eventual super bowl champion Seahawks in my one & only NFL Playoff game of the year over the 49ers. Obviously yes, it did win. Of course those don't garner that much attention. It's the losing ones that people tend to focus heavily one. Prior to that my only other one this year came on Jan 6th when I had my, yes, one & only Bowl game of the year. And yes, it was an easy winner as Auburn covered the number and just missed the outright over the Seminoles. People scream **** murder whenever a capper drops one of these and scream from the mountain tops like a stuck hog that they all lose, every time. Of course that is a myth. It's just that people scramble all over themselves to spit on one that goes down but fall strangely silent when they prevail. It's called human nature I suppose. Well, I love a play coming up this saturday and have stepped up and tagged it as my one & only march madness game of the year. No, it's not a lock. I don't do that crap. My clients know I treat them with more respect than not. But they also know I don't abuse or toss these things around. So there it is guys.
Exciting week with baseball getting underway and the college hoops winding down. Best of luck to all of you and like I always tell my customers, please use self discipline and money management. Without these two principles you have zero chance for any long term success. None. Whatsoever. Take care fellas and enjoy the games!!
