When it seemed like everyone at Pregame, myself included, was on the Warriors game one and got lucky when they covered in OT Andre Gomes was on Cleveland +6. Check out his reasoning. He nailed it. Props Andre, sorry about the bad beat.
"Even though Golden State is the better team in these finals, I believe that today's spot favors more the Cavaliers than the Warriors. On this rested spot for both teams, Golden State won't be able to use their much bigger depth as a big strength, while Irving's knee will also be rested, besides the fact that the Warriors might feel some pressure on playing the Game 1 at home, after having failed to reach the NBA Finals for decades.
Cleveland will also have a clear edge on offensive rebounding, which will be a tough match up for Golden State, especially when they use small lineups. Not only the Cavaliers will have second chance points opportunities, as every time the Cavaliers grab an offensive rebound, that's one less possession the Warriors will have and one less chance for the Warriors to run in transition. I also believe the Cavaliers will try to prevent Golden State to run in transition as much as possible and with that, they will turn their focus into turning this game into a half court battle.
Therefore, I expect a low scoring affair with Cleveland being competitive on this spot and so, I'll be taking both the Cavaliers and the Under in here."
