I've taken the time to gather all the necessary facts. Here is what happened.
When it came time to promote CBB, the records provided by Jeff Scott showed Tony +.9 units. Thus, a profit. Tony promoted that fact.
What DubV likely missed in his game review was one game which the analysis recommend 1.5 units (though entered into the system as 1 unit - the system does not have an option for 1.5) and four bonus plays (each for .5 units) throughout the season that were included in the analysis of other, bigger picks.

Even when adding these units, DubV's accounting and Jeff's were off by a few units. So, Jeff when back and checked every game by hand ... and found that he had made a mistake on two games. Those two games were +3.1 units in Tony's favor. Making this adjustment, Tony's season record was -2.2 units.
It's rare that human error on as few as two games would swing a season result, but the results were that tight in this case.
What is obvious from this process:
* Pregame cares, at literally a decimal point level, about accurate promotions.
* This public reporting system works.
Any time a promotion mistake is made, it is corrected publicly. A second mistake in a month results in suspension. It's important to note that this is Tony's first mistake IN ALMOST A YEAR. His mistake last year was BIG, and his punishment was BIG (100 day suspension) ... but in the time since - up till this mistake - you can't do better than perfection. It would be TOTALLY unfair to judge Tony in any way other than a guy who made a big mistake, learned from it, and has exceeded reasonable expectations in the time since.
Tony's emotion certainly did not help the situation - and it's a level of emotion that cannot be repeated by a Pro - but it also speaks to his passion and effort level to evolve with the times.
