Today I will address something other than the historical moment first. I've been with Pregame for nine years as a pro now. As one could suspect there have been some great runs and moments to remember. Understandably there have also been times where things swing the other way. It is inevitable. It is the 500 pound gorilla in the room nobody typically want to deal with. Not sure why, it is a fact of life in sports, whether lacing them up and playing or handicapping. It is SO easy to come on the forum when things are rolling along. Sure, the pats on the back are nice. But, as I have stated several times through the years. The true measure of a capper along with his capping is his willingness to step up and acknowledge when things are not going his way. At most sites the cappers are not available, they ignore clients, they just keep cranking out games of the whatever every day. At Pregame it is a different environment. I get private messages, some supportive, some not so much. Some people sadly relish seeing any pro go through a slump. What a miserable attitude that must be to live with. But we all know the internet draws all kinds. Well, I am just stating I will strike back with a vengeance, like I always have. I am likely as competitive as anyone around. Hell, forum poster Richard Mayfield has known me for over thirty years. He knows. Just wanted to get that on the table. I am working hard to get things back on track. Talk is cheap. I will get it done. It is very much a what have you done for me lately business. Today's hero can easily be next weeks goat. We've all seen it countless times. Just an endless cycle. My clients know i care, and that is important to me.
Okay, onto the topic of the day. This day in history is chalk full of moments. It was on this date in 1991 that Nolan Ryan fired his SEVENTH no hitter. He was pitching for the Rangers. Think about that for a moment. SEVEN no hitters! That is sick. I had the pleasure of watching Ryan work against the Royals on a few occasions. It was a sight both to see and hear. What I mean, and those who also watched him toe the bump can attest to is the loud grunt he would let out after firing each number one. You could hear it all over the yard. Nolan Ryan was a freak of nature.
On the business side I am not publishing a featured release today. I am looking hard at some basketball, and looking hard is an understatement. The pressure is most definitely on and it's time to answer the bell. I plan on it guys. Just wanted to be sure and post this today. That Spurs and Clippers series has been my white whale.
It is one helluva weekend for sports fans. The NBA playoffs, the Derby, the NFL draft winding up and baseball in full swing. Plus, oh yeah, there is a fight in Vegas. Enjoy it fellas. This is good stuff. Best of luck.
