I couldn’t tell you who, but I’m sure a wise man once said, “Don’t over think the obvious.” Now App States head coach may have said this is the best QB, RB, LB, and all the other “B’s” that are involved in the game, but of course he has to say that. It’s his team he’s talking about! I certainly wouldn’t expect the head coach to say in regards to his competition, “They’ve got the best team in all the land.” But let’s look at the obvious:
This is Sun Belt versus SEC
I would be willing to bet that over the course of the last 3 seasons, SEC has a winning record over any Sun Belt teams faced.
SEC is at home
Again, I would be willing to be that over the course of the last 3 seasons, (specifically during week 1) SEC has a winning record playing at home.
Last 3 Season Openers App State has been outscored an average of 41 to 23. -18
Last 3 Season Openers Tenn has outscored their opponent an average of 47 to 12. +35
Remember, week 1 is when those 30, 40, even 50 or 60 point blowouts have a chance to be met. This game is sitting on Tenn -22. (sportsbook.ag).
Looking on to week 2. We can use App State’s head coaches confidence in his “best team” against ODU. With what he has said, I would imagine that they are heavy favorites Vs ODU week 2. When they lose, and Tenn covers on 9/1, (note my high confidence), we can assume that the line will go down on App State and then you can take the winnings from “mommas pearls” on 9/1 and roll them onto App State on 9/10!!
