JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - An Arkansas State University football player put up a post on social media claiming that someone stole, and then killed, his dog.
Quarterback Fredi Knighten posted an image on Instagram Monday showing his dog and a sign which read "God saw how you treated our puppy."
Knighten claims in the post that someone took his dog, then returned it back to him dead and mangled.
A-State said Monday the incident has nothing to do with the university, or Knighten's football career, but they are supporting him.
The dog, according to A-State's Marketing Director Bill Smith, was killed in Little Rock at Knighten's parents' home. As of Tuesday, no report had been filed at the Little Rock Police Department.
