Pregame.com has Florida St #5 in our Vegas Rankings.
CFB Committee has Florida St #2.
#1 Team in our Vegas Rankings is Alabama … David Malinsky projects that Alabama would be favored by 4 points over Florida St on a neutral field.
As we were releasing Vegas projections after the committee announcement Tuesday evening, LV Superbook’s Jeff Sherman told me, that his co-worker, oddsmaker Ed Salmons said that Miami will be favored next week over Florida St.
When I tweeted this, few seemed able to fathom that Florida St wouldn’t be a big favorite. And there was even talk of people flying in to Vegas just to bet this game! LOL.
Talking with Ed personally this morning, he clarified that he expected Florida St to open as a small favorite, and he expected the sharps to bet Miami hard, and that the game had a shot to get bet all the way to Miami -1.
Cantor Sportsbooks now has an early bettable line available on this game: Florida St opened -1 at Miami (currently Florida St -2)
It will be interesting to see which way this line moves in this game and when/if the Wiseguys jump in. Based on the Twitter reaction, expect the public to be heavy on Florida St at less than a field goal.
Who will you be on?
