No way The Aztecs march into the Pit and get a road W.
New Mexico beat SDSU at SDSU by 8 after being down 17.
SDSU didn't have Pope for that game, but Pope isn't as good as everybody thought he was.
Tim Williams is going to play for the first time in a month, he will be the best player on the floor. He's a 6'8" post up player, so Im not worried about mobility and conditioning as much as the oddsmakers are. His injury was a stress reaction in his foot. It's the kind of injury that, in the old days, was just a sore foot.
New Mexico is only a -1. They should be a -7 imo.
New Mexico has lost some games without their best player but they have discovered a good redshirt sophmore guard who can shoot. New Mexico leads the conf. in shooting %. They know that even if they get down they can come back and beat SDSU. They've done it before, on the road.
SDSU is unbelievably disappointed in their season this year. They just can't shoot. They play decent D, they hold teams to low totals and percentages but they just lose anyway becaise they have no way to score out of the set offense. No post game, just 3 pointers and offensive rebounds. Even if they find a way to make some shots in this super tough venue they can't hold a lead.
I'm taking New Mexico -1 at home in their biggest game of the year with their coach's job on the line and their best player back on the floor. They've lost 3 in a row and they're sick of losing.
I would bet New Mexico -1 without Tim Williams in this game. With him playing it's a 5 star $1,000 bet for me.
You can't talk me out of this one.
