TOP PLAYS
3 UNIT PLAYS
Notre Dame/ Louisville Under 136: This is normally an Over series as 9 of the last 10 in the series has gone over the total but a closer look shows that 6 of those games went to OT and that in regulation the OU is 5-5 for the 10 games. We also note that the the Cardinals just can't score right now as they have averaged just 61.4 ppg in their last last 7 games and they have put up just 68.6 ppg at home. Defensively they are as solid as they come as they have allowed just 54.4 ppg at home and just 61.2 ppg in their last 5 games. The Irish are a good offensive team on the road, but i don't see them getting a whole lot vs this very tough Cardinal defensive team. Louisville did put up 81 points vs FSU in their last game, but they also went crazy from long distance and this is a very poor 3 point shooting team, so I don't see that happening again. Cardinal home games have averaged just 123 ppg, while their last 5 have put up just 123.6 ppg. I expect this one to be played in the 120s as well.
Houston/ Tulane Under 126.5: There isn't a whole lot statwise that would indicate this game will approach 130 points. The Last 5 games for Houston has averaged just 121.8 ppg, while the last 5 for Tulane has averaged just 118.2 ppg. Houston road games have put up 130.4 ppg, but Tulane home games have averaged just 123.1 ppg. Houston has been rather weak on defense on the road, allowing 70.7 ppg away from home, but they are taking on a weak Tulane offense that has just 52.8 ppg (Regulation) at home in AAC play, while in their last 10 games they have scored more than 55 points just once and have averaged just 51.9 ppg over the 10 game stretch. Houston has not been a good offensive team on the road, where they have averaged just 59.7 ppg, while in their last 5 games they have put up just 60 ppg. Both teams play at a slow pace, both are terrible shooting teams overall, especially from long range and the charity strip. Not sure why money has come in on the Over, because the stats and the pace of play that both teams will play at clearly indicate and OU line that should be at 118 or less. I expect no more than 115 points in this one.
BEST OF THE REST
Tennessee/ LSU Over 132: The Vols are having issues scoring right now, but they should do OK in this one vs an LSU team that has allowed 66.7 ppg at home this year. The Vols have played some good defense for the most part this year, but they have struggled of late, allowing 67.4 ppg in their last 5 games and LSU is a team that rarely scores less than 70 points at home. For the year they have averaged 75.7 ppg on their home floor, including 72 ppg in their last 5 here. 73-65 sounds about right here.
San Diego State/ UNLV Under 121: The Rebels will try an run, but the Aztecs won't let them. They get back very well on defense and then on offense the Aztecs play at a snails pace. The Rebels are a terrible shooting team and the Aztecs are a great defensive team that is 3rd in points allowed and 6th in defensive FG% this year. Hard to see UNLV getting much in this one. San Diego State is not a very good offensive team. They do shot the ball well, but also play very slow and don't take man shots during the game and UNLV has allowed just 60.4 ppg at home. The first meeting this year put up just 100 points and while this one will be higher scoring than that I still don't expect more than 115 points in this one.
