Editor's note: Although I have been doing well this baseball season I never consider an individual pick to be anything close to a lock. My baseball picks are part of a long term 'grind it out' strategy that will include a lot of losers. I caution you not to put a large % of your bankroll on any single one of my picks. This money management strategy applies to every sport but it applies to baseball the most in my case.
For Friday I like the CUBS +115 vs the Reds (Leake vs Villanueva). The Reds have been on the road for a while and have been struggling to hit. Now they travel to Chicago for a day game against the Cubs. Leake's k/bb ratio is not very impressive and he only lasted 3 innings in his last start. The Reds are only hitting .229 as a team against Villanueva while the Cubs are hitting .326 against Leake (both around 100 at bats). It's always an adventure when you bet on the Cubs but they have been swinging the bats well lately so I think there is some value on them as a home dog in this spot. (Be careful if you bet this one and lose though, there is no worse feeling than losing money on the Cubs, it could easily put you on tilt.)
