Vargas’ 3rd start after coming back from the Tommy John injury. His 5.2 xFIP so far tells you all you need to know. By comparison, Santana has been very solid all season long. Royals rank 30th (dead last) against right-handers, and both the starting pitching and offensive advantage are heavily in Minnesota’s favor here. Let’s take the bullpens out of this one as KC has a strong edge there.
