Most shops are offering an 8.5 on the O's/A's total. However, if one can get an eight (Bookmaker) then I believe the 'over' is worth a look.
This has been a very low-scoring series thus far and both teams enter on 'under' streaks. The bats should come to life this afternoon though. Note that Baltimore day games are averaging more than 10 runs per game this season.
Triggs is making his eighth stint in the majors this season. While I guess he deserves credit for "hanging around," eight trips back and forth from the minors isn't necessarily a good thing. He's made 19 appearances (in the majors) but only one start. He's got a poor 5.35 ERA (1.57 WHIP) and he went only three innings in the lone start.
While Tillman is having an excellent season, he's just 0-2 with a 5.94 ERA his last three starts. Four of six career starts vs. the A's have finished above the total; this season's lone start against them had an 11-3 final. I lean to the Over again here.
