I find it almost comical at times the conclusions people come to in the heat of the moment after losing a bet. First off, since Matheny has become a manager he has most likely won more playoff games than any other manager in baseball. Matheny didn't lose this game. Matheny didn't miss play the bunt's in gm 2. As for betting with the heart goes, if you were talking about me, I didn't win over 50 units this year by betting with my heart. In this series I gave good solid reason's for all my bet's. I wasn't going to bet tonight's game but Lackey at plus money against Hammels I'll take every time. One pitch most likely determined the outcome of this game. That was Lackey's pitch to Hammel in the second. 98% of the time he get's him out and get's out of the inning and stays in the game. It's a completely different game if that happens. Let me say the Cardinals didn't deserve to win this game or the series. Normally they are a very disciplined team at the plate and have a very good feeling of the strike zone. For the most part in this series they looked like a bunch of free swinging rookies at the plate with no idea of where the strike zone was. Of course the strike zone kept changing in this series but it didn't seem to bother the Cub's hitters. The Cardinals should have scored at least 10 runs in this game but kept swinging at balls out of the zone in key situations, and it wasn't because of the pitching.
I do really hope the Cubs go on to win the series but I really worry about them in this next series for various reasons. counting both my series bet's I go 1-3 -5.7 units. Playoff record now 4-8 -8.26 units.
