#1: Toronto Blue Jays +107
It’s typically tough to fade a dominant pitcher like Sale at home, but there are a couple of factors against him here. First, he’s facing the best offense against lefties and it’s not even close. Toronto’s offense ranks #1 against both the fastball and changeup, two pitches that Sale specializes in, and I believe he’ll have a tougher time in this one. While TOR ranks #1 here, White Sox are the worst offense against left-handers. And Buehrle has pitched pretty well lately. He has a 1.7 ERA in his last 6 starts with a 4.5 K:BB rate and 0.6 HR/9. Buehrle won’t blow you away the way Sale does, but he’s an efficient pitcher who knows how to induce weak contact. There’s rain in the forecast for tonight’s game so we’ll see if there are any delays here, but if there are, that will favor Toronto. Buehrle doesn’t throw hard so he doesn’t really have an issue with getting ready after a delay the way Sale, a power pitcher, might. We’ll see if rain has an effect on this game but even if it doesn’t, I’ll back one of the best teams in the league against one of the worst…even with Sale on the mound.
Good Luck
