VS.
The Detroit Tigers come in this game fresh off a 7-2 win against the Whitesox. P Drew Smyly takes to the mound and is sitting at -190.. These odds alarm me when Smyly is a favorite of -145 or above he is 1-4. The fact that Detroit has been rather down and the bullpen is the worst in the MLB draws even more concern. One thing to note is Smyly hasn't been a deep inning pitcher. His average is about 5 inning per game. I don't believe there is much value with a pitcher that can't go deep with a bullpen this bad.
Smyly's home record is just bad. He has 2 wins total out of 8 home games his last 10. His record this year is 5-9.
Detroit has struggled over the last 13 games going 5-8 with 1 win Vs a lefty in the last 4 attempts.
Chicago on the other hand has had a rather productive 2nd half winners of 7 of 12.
John Danks takes to the mound with a 9-6 record and a 4.40 ERA. Last time he faced Detroit he went 7 innings Vs Jason Verlander and got the win as he only allowed 6 and 2 earned runs. One of his strongest games of the season. I think Danks will be comfortable throwing again against this lineup.
This series is even on the year as each team is 5-5.
All in all this price isn't justified to me one bit. I think this ML & RL move near 20cents in our favor if we shop now. I think Grabbing this +1.5 is the best value on the board today. BOL
Play Chicago White Sox +1.5 (-118)
