Always respect your opinion Teddy, but do disagree here.
The Dolphins did not exceed my expectations simply because they didn't make the playoffs. It's Week 17 and the Chargers, Chiefs, Ravens and Texans are still in the playoff hunt - but not Miami.
There is no glory in choking late leads against playoff teams such as Miami did in losses to the Broncos, Packers and Lions.
A head coach on top of things would never have let Bullygate happen and then spiral out of control like what happened to Miami last year. Philbin should have been let go after that debacle.
Philbin is lucky that Ryan Tannehill responded like a champion to his amateurish way when he didn't fully endorsement him as the team's starting quarterback earlier in the season.
I doubt Romeo Crennell's name ever gets linked with a head coaching anymore. Certainly I never heard it mention with the Dolphins. I know you're being sarcastic, but I think a deep pockets team like the Dolphins would have done better than Philbin if they went for a new coach.
