College football is nearly here and on Thursday, the Top 25 USA Today Coaches Poll was released. Currently the Alabama Crimson Tide are the top-ranked team in the country (no surprise there) as they go for their third straight national championship victory.

Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide earned 58 of the possible 62 first place votes. Ohio State is second ranked in the poll and earned three of the first place votes. Also receiving a first place vote was the Texas A&M Aggies, who rank sixth in the first overall poll. No doubt Johnny Manziel has something to do with this, returning from his Heisman-winning season last year and guiding the Aggies to a AT&T Cotton Bowl blasting of Oklahoma, 41-13.

Oregon, despite losing coach Chip Kelly to the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles, come into the season ranked third overall. Stanford and Georgia round out the Top 5 overall, giving the SEC just two teams in the first five spots by the coaches. Texas A&M, South Carolina and Florida are also SEC teams ranked in the Top 10 overall. There really is no surprise in the rankings at this point in the season.

Louisville comes in ranked in the Top 10 while Notre Dame, who was blasted by the Crimson Tide in the BCS title game, sits at 11th.

Five Big Ten teams enter the rankings with Ohio State leading the way at No. 2 — Michigan is second on the list at 17th, Nebraska is 18th, Northwestern is ranked at 22nd and the Badgers of Wisconsin, with new head coach Gary Andersen, rank 23rd in search of their fourth straight Rose Bowl game.
