Start time, Odds and Free Pick for LSU at Tennessee

LSU (odds -15) at Tennessee Start Time 3:30 CBS: In next week’s issue I’ll be sharing key statistical numbers with you at the halfway point of the CFB season.  For now, understand this: in a pair of SEC clashes against FL and GA, Tennessee has rushed a combined 44 times for -29 net yards.  It is no surprise that they are 0-2 SU, ATS in those contests.  Will their fortunes get any better against the superior LSU defensive front which is allowing 69/2.3. And if the Vols are out rushed by more than a 2-1 margin, what are their chances of ATS success.  Here are the numbers: LY CFB teams who out rushed their opponent by a 2-1 margin were 217-75 ATS (74%).  This season, they are 110-32 ATS including a resounding 23-2 ATS last week!  And if the Vols can’t move it on the ground, what chance for replacement QB Simms against the hard charging Bengal Tiger front. Free pick for LSU and Tennessee: Never easy to back #1 at an inflated price.  But far harder to fade the kind of anticipated running numbers that I can only see in this contest.

Iowa State at Missouri (odds -15) 2:00: When the Kansas State Wildcats upended Missouri last week, it was the fourth consecutive victory for our Cat of the Week on these pages.  They did it without the support of our dynamic duo, Heidelicious RockRock and Cheetah Leggings.  As you’ll recall, under a plea bargain with the Chicago District Attorney’s office the girls were required to return to PGH for a week of rehab following another outrageous night in Chicago two weeks ago.  Following a week of begging and pleading, they have again convinced me to allow them to join our travelling road show in what will surely be a fifth consecutive victory for our Feline Feature.  As the tour swings back east, we head to Columbia, MO home of the Missouri Tigers.  Just blocks from the campus, you can party with Cheetah and Heidelicious for Brain-Freeze Friday or join them after the game Saturday night to celebrate our victory during Sexy Saturday. This week’s venue is Tropical Liquors at 515 E. Broadway Street .  This eclectic bar is home of the frozen drinks. As always, I urge you to email us with your experiences with Cheetah and Heidelicious.  But please, find a way to escort them from the premises once the inevitable bad behavior ensues.  And make sure they don’t get anywhere near an opportunity to pole dance.  On the field this afternoon,  look for the Tigers to have their way against an overmatched Iowa State team. We have faded this Cyclone defense in each of the last two wks with great results. In losing to Texas, 37-14, they trailed 34-0.  It was worse last week in a 49-26 loss to Baylor.  The Cyclones were blown away allowing 603 TY.  They are now allowing 200+ yards for the season, both running and passing.  These are numbers matched by the MO offense.  But don’t expect any lack of focus by the home team.  They are off consecutive losses at Kansas State and Oklahoma, dropping them to 2-3 SU for the season.  They have shown the propensity for no mercy as their last outing on this field was a 69-0 win vs Western Illinois.  Now back home, /BBL and dropping back in class, expect more of the same.

Colorado at Washington (odds -14): This is 1-5 SUATS Colorado visiting 4-1 SUATS Washington.  The divergent ATS results favor CO with a -56 net AFP that has resulted in a 7-week adjustment of a full TD.  It isn’t enough.  First year, HC Embree has inherited a team that is now just 7-20 ATS RD. In fact, dating to LY this team is now just 0-7 ATS on the road.  This year, they have losses of 17 at Hawaii, 20 at Ohio State and 41, last week, at Stanford.  They are a battered and bruised team with injuries and suspensions including the loss of top offensive threat WR Richardson.  Now they must face a Washington team who is on a major roll for third year HC Sarkisian.  Dating to LY, when they finished 4-0 SU 5-0 ATS Sarks boys are now on a 9-1 ATS run.  Look for that to continue in this pure momentum play at what in the mind of this bureau remains a value price.
