The Arkansas Razorbacks are hosting the Alabama Crimson Tide in a massive SEC College Football machup tonight. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The total is low because Alabama is a team that doesn’t give up a ton of points and they are better and more physical than their opponents. That make tonight’s game against Arkansas a big one for the Hogs, who seem to be looking for a signature win under Bret Bielema.
The Hogs are 4-1 on the season with the only loss coming at home to Texas A&M in a game where they couldn’t stop the run and got dumptrucked for 366 yards by the Aggies on just 37 carries. Trevor Knight, who led Texas A&M with 157 yards on the ground, also had a solid game through the air.
Alabama loves to run the football. They simply beat teams by being more physical a the point of attack and just mauling people. Expect that to continue to some degree here s Damien Harris, Jalen Hurts and the gang average better than five yards per carry on the season for Alabama. Harris is averaging 8.5 yards per attempt himself and Hurts has proven he can be a dual-threat guy.
Alabama also has big-play guys with Calvin Ridley and ArDarius Stewart, between the pair they are averaging better than 12.5 yards per catch.
Arkansas has to get a big game from Austin Allen and Rawleigh Williams III. Allen is completing almost 68 percent of his passes (with 12 TDs) and Williams has already carried the ball 101 times for 559 yards (5.5 per attempt). Offensively Arkansas has to find a way to score some points to be able to keep the defense from being on the field all night.
Big game for both teams, but Arkansas has the ability to keep it close. Against A&M they turned it over three times, which cannot happen in this one.
