The Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots meet up tonight in NFL Preseason action. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time and the odds for the game have the Patriots favored by almost a touchdown in this one.

Carolina had a very successful 2013 campaign and is looking to continue those wins this season. They'll battle a tough schedule and the loss of key players, but still having Cam Newton on the roster makes them a great team. Plus, the Panthers should still have a very tough defensive unit. In tonight's game, expect Newton to play a little bit more as well.
Typically, in the third week of the preseason, we see starters go deeper into the game to work out timing and give coaches a better example of how their team will look the opening week of the regular season.
That means we should see Tom Brady play a little bit tonight as well.
Both teams have gone 1-1 in the preseason and will be successful during the regular year as well. New England did not play well offensively in their opening game of the season, falling 23-6 to the Washington Redskins. They did, however, rebound well to beat Philadelphia 42-35 in their second game. The Patriots forced four Eagle turnovers in that game.
Carolina dropped their opening game as well, falling to the Buffalo Bills 20-18. They rebounded to beat the Kansas City Chiefs 28-16. The Panthers have become a very good running team and will look to pound the ground game in this one tonight.
If New England can force turnovers, we like them to win tonight. But with the Carolina defense being stingy the Panthers should be able to hang around in this one. We'll take the Pats in a close one.
