New York has already punted on its season. The 4-10 mark will obviously have them missing the post season and has them in the fight for a Top 5 pick in the upcoming NFL?Draft. Ironically enough, the Jets have won three of their four games this season on the road, including their last win which came a few weeks ago at San Francisco.
New England has won, and covered, all three times they were a double digit favorite this season, but they should get a solid effort from the Jets in this one. The Pats won the first game between these two about a month ago, a game that was close and finished with a 22-17 score. Tom Brady and the gang will be looking for another win here, a victory would be their 13th of the season and set them up nicely for the post season with a game at home.
New England has won five straight games overall as well, last week they won a 16-3 game in Denver, where it’s never easy to play. Bryce Petty will get the start for the Jets in this one. He’s not very good and the Jets are very vanilla on offense when he is playing. Matt Forte is expected to miss the game because of injury and Brandon Marshall will certainly be double teamed enough that getting him the football will be difficult.
Petty has thrown six interceptions during his five games of action this season, the Jets are just 1-4 during his time on the field. New England can come out with a statement game here, the Patriots defense has played well this season, the 16.6 points per game given up is the best mark in the league.
