The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs continue tonight when the Nashville Predators take on the Chicago Blackhawks in an NHL Playoffs Game 4 matchup. The game is scheduled for an 9:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Blackhawks favored to get the win in this fourth matchup.
Chicago allowed only 2.3 goals per game to opponents during the regular season, which ranked second-best in the league. Nashville has been bringing as much as they can on the offensive end against the Blackhawks in the opening three games of this series, including scoring some goals, but the Predators find themselves in a 2-1 hole against a strong-willed Blackhawks team.
Nashville led the opening game of this series 3-0 after one period of action, but Chicago scored the final four goals to steal the game. Nashville was able to bounce back and they won the second game, but Chicago once again proved their focus in Game 3, taking a lead in the series. A win tonight for the Blackhawks would put the series on a stranglehold for Chicago, which would need to win just once more in the final few games.
Scott Darling will start his second straight game for the Blackhawks, who gave Corey Crawford the hook after some shaky outings. Crawford was solid all season but he's been less than himself in the post season, giving Darling the opportunity to start, and look good. If Darling continues to play well the Blackhawks will be winning yet again tonight.
Pekka Rinne for Nashville has to play better. The Predators have to play better. But despite winning the second game in this series, Nashville really lost this series when they gave up a three-goal lead in the opening period of Game 1. Look for Chicago to begin to close this thing out.
