The UNLV Runnin Rebels are on the road today in Mountain West College Basketball action when they take on the Colorado State Rams. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have the Rams favored to pick up a comfortable win over the Rebels.
UNLV isn't having the type of season they wanted. Colorado State is looking for their 20th win in this game and if the struggles continue for the Rebels, the Rams are going to have no problems sending them back to Vegas with another conference loss.
Colorado State has lost two of their last three games, though, dropping road contests to both Boise State and Wyoming with a game sandwiched inbetween that saw them beat Fresno State by 23. The Rams look to be one of the most complete teams in the Mountain West this season, but they're still in fourth place looking up at Wyoming, San Diego State and Boise. The Rebels are down and out this season, sitting at 4-5 in the league, and Colorado State will need to find a way to not lose this one today.
The Rams love to pound the basketball inside to J.J. Avila and gang. The 73 points a game isn't spectacular, but Colorado State does play very well in home games, winners of 11 of their 12 contests.
The Runnin Rebels have one of the best freshman in the country in Rashad Vaughn, a 17-point, five rebound a game player that has been one of the only bright spots for UNLV. Christian Wood is also averaging almost a double-double per game and has played well in the UNLV three-game winning streak.
Colorado State might be too much for the Rebels, though. Colorado State has been good at home and UNLV has not been a good road team, winning just one of their six games away from Vegas in true-road contests. The Rams will pound the basketball inside, take advantage of a young UNLV team and pick up a home win.
