Major League Baseball Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Chicago White Sox welcome in the Detroit Tigers in Major League Baseball action tonight. The game is is scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. start time and it will be televised live and regionally on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have the Tigers listed as a road favorite to pick up the win.

Detroit has now lost eight straight games to fall to 28-28 on the season. The Tigers have one of the most talented teams in the league, but can't find a way to put it all together yet this season. The Tigers led 3-2 in last night's game but eventually lost in extra innings to a White Sox team that is looking to continue climbing up the American League Central standings.

The Tigers will send David Price to the bump this evening. Price has been good for Detroit this season, going 4-2 with a 2.91 ERA so far this season. Price's record should be a lot better, though, as he's pitched and ended up with five no decisions in games the Tigers ended up winning. Three of Prices' last four starts have come on the road, he's given up a combined five earns runs over 21 1/3 innings in those three games, but only has a 1-1 record to show for it.

Chicago will run out John Danks, a lefty like Price. Danks is just 3-4 on the season with a 4.81 ERA. Danks looked very impressive in his last start, though, throwing a complete game shutout against Houston. He scattered 10 hits in that game, struck out six and walked only one batter. Danks has allowed Detroit hitters a .269 average in 216 plate appearances. Ian Kinsler, who has struggled a bit this season for the Tigers, has four home runs while J.D. Martinez, Jose Iglesias and Miguel Cabrera have all homered off him as well.

Price has allowed White Sox hitters an average of .211 in 147 at bats. Jose Abreu and Avisail Garcia have both homered off of him, but are a combined 3-for-17 against Price. The Tigers' lefty needs to be the guy that puts a stop to this skid.

Movie Beating the Belmont for Beginners

Steve Fezzik and Teddy Covers are pro bettors, but both admit they aren't much for horse racing betting. They say that isn't a requirement to bet the Belmont though. Since American Pharoah is going for the Triple Crown, something we haven't seen since Affirmed in 1978, simply bet the field to win and you'll succeed. There have been 12 Triple Crown Contenders in the past 20 years and none of them have won, so the guys are more than comfortable to take the "no-win" bet on American Pharoah. Avoid the media hype about the special horse, there are too many horse "assassins" in the field and history shows it is a bad bet.
