The Miami Marlins welcome in the Arizona Diamondbacks for a matinee game in Major League Baseball action on Thursday. The game is scheduled for a 12:10 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv as well as both markets. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Marlins favored to pick up the win.
Miami will try and avoid being swept in a four-game series by Arizona today. The Diamondbacks have won three straight close contests over the Marlins and will look to get the brooms out for this one.
The Marlins recently fired their skipper, but it hasn't helped. Miami has struggled all season and now find themselves 16-25 on the campaign with just an 8-13 record at home. The Fish sit in dead last in the National League East standings, a firm eight games behind the Washington Nationals in the division.
Arizona is also under .500 and sends Archie Bradley to the mound in this one. He's 2-1 with a 3.27 ERA this season, his rookie campaign. The Diamondbacks have won four of his five starts this season, most recently dropping a 7-5 decision to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Mat Latos will pitch for Miami. He's had a tough season for the Fish, sporting a record of 1-4 with a 5.54 ERA in eight starts. He hasn't faced Arizona yet this season but has held current hitters to a .271 average against him in nearly 50 at bats.
Home hasn't been great for Latos, most notably. His 10.20 ERA and 0-2 record in four starts in home games doesn't bode well for the Fish in this one. Even if he can throw well and find a way to win, his numbers will need a couple more consistent starts to return closer to normal.
Can Arizona pick up a fourth straight win on the road in Miami? It will be tough.

NFL Free Pick: Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears
According to professional sports bettor Steve Fezzik, the early bird can catch a profitable worm if they put money down on Green Bay's opening week showing against the Chicago Bears. With the line currently at -4.5 at most Vegas sports books, Fezzik predicts it will move to -6.5 come game day, as no one is going to be betting on the Jay Cutler-helmed Bears, so the money will pour in on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. With that being the case, time strike early while the iron is hot.
