Florida State Seminoles at Miami Hurricanes CBB Odds, Start Time, Free Pick

Miami Hurricanes Vs. Florida State Seminoles: 1/27/13 Ryan's Free College Basketball Pick Against the Spread

College Basketball on Sunday and we will see the Florida State Seminoles travel in-state to take on the Miami Hurricanes. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 pm (Eastern) start time and will be televised on ESPN U. Currently the odds for the game have Miami favored by 3.5 points while the total sits at 129.5.  Check out Sportsbook Spy to see who the Public is taking on all of today's games.

Free Analysis: Florida State enters the contest with momentum following a dramatic 60-57 come-from-behind win over Clemson on Thursday, which featured a game-winning 3-pointer by standout guard Michael Snaer at the buzzer.  It's been an up-and-down season as one might expect for a Seminoles' squad that features six freshmen and transfers. However, Florida State has won two of its three conference road games, including a 65-62 victory at Maryland and a 71-66 win at Clemson. Snaer, who now has three game-winning shots in his career, leads the team in scoring (14.5) with 6-8 junior forward Okaro White (12.9) the only other Seminole averaging in double figures. Florida State enters Sunday's game as the ACC leader in blocked shots (5.3 per game) and has led the conference in blocks each of the past three seasons. The Seminoles can also hit their free throws, connecting on an ACC best 71.5 percent of their foul shots, including 18 of 20 (90 percent) in Thursday's win over Clemson.

Second-year head coach Jim Larranaga, who made an unprecedented run to the 2006 Final Four as head coach at mid-major George Mason, appears to have another club capable of making a long run in the NCAA Tourney again this season. Besides the rare dismantling of No. 1 Duke, the Hurricanes also own impressive wins over Michigan State (67-59) and at North Carolina (68-59). The Hurricanes lead the ACC in scoring margin in league games at +11.4 ppg. Durand Scott transforms the Hurricanes into a much more explosive squad on the offensive end with his 14.6 points per game. The 6-foot-3 Scott showed his value as he poured in a season-high 25 points in the triumph over Duke. Miami has a very valuable piece up front in Kenny Kadji, who has used strong interior play to post 13.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game, while Shane Larkin chips in 12.5 points and 3.9 assists per game from the point guard slot. Miami is only going to get better now that the 6-10, 292- pound Reggie Johnson has returned from an injury that kept him out for eight games prior to the victory over Duke.

Free Pick:  I like the Under in this one. Miami put up 90 points on Duke, but that is really not their game. The Canes averaged just 68.6 ppg on the year and they rely more on their defense to win games. Miami allowed Duke 63 points in their last game, but prior to that they allowed less than 60 points in 8 of their last 9 games. Miami has allowed just 55.4 ppg on 34.9% shooting in ACC play this year, while at home they have allowed just 59 ppg on 36.1% shooting. They should be able to keep an FSU squad that averages just 61 ppg on the road down a bit here. FSU has been playing better defense of late, allowing just 63.8 ppg in their last 5 games. This should be a close, low scoring battle, with around 120 being scored.
