The FIFA Women's World Cup continues today when Germany takes on the Ivory Coast in Group B action. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. (EST) start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have Germany listed as a massive favorite to open up the World Cup with a win.

Germany, the top-ranked women's team in the world, is laying four and half to five goals in this match, because it's going to be very lop-sided. The Germans own  what many believe is the BEST team in the world, which would certainly justify their impressive ranking ahead of the United States. 

The Ivory Coast comes into today's match against the two-time (2003, 07) FIFA world champions ranked 67th. They're also making the country's first appearance in the World Cup, but are in a tough group. Ivory Coast is the highest seed in the grouping that includes the world's No. 1, No. 11 in Norway and No. 29 in Thailand. Certainly the Germans and Norwegians are the run-away candidates to get the job done and advance to the knockout stage.

Back in 2011 the Germans cruised through the group stages, beating Canada, France and Nigeria to pile up nine points. But once they got to the knockout stage Germany lost in an extra time goal to Japan, who got a tally in the 108th minute from Karina Maruyama. Japan would march on to win the World Cup title.

In today's game, look for the Germans to get an early lead and continue punching the Ivory Coast in the proverbial mouth.
