The Boise State Broncos are playing host to the Washington State Cougars in college football action Saturday night. The game is scheduled for a 10:15 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The college football odds for the game have the Broncos favored by nearly two touchdowns to pick up the win.

Washington State really dropped the ball in the opening week of the season, falling 45-42 to Eastern Washington at home. The Cougars were supposed to potentially be a team that could contend for a Pac-12 title this season, but giving up 45 points to a non-conference foe at home and not getting out with a win is certainly a bad spot.

Luke Falk did all he could to help Wazzou to the win, completing 41-of-51 passes for 418 yards and four touchdowns. The Cougar running game was once again abysmal and the one-dimensional offense in this game could hurt them.

Boise State is never a stranger to playing big opponents, but now they’re hosting a Power 5 school. The Broncos posted 45 points against Louisiana-Lafayette last week, Brett Rypien threw for 347 yards and two scores.

The difference could be in the Boise State secondary. Playing Lafayette, a run-based kind of team, really doesn’t get them prepared for this type of Washington State offense. 

Simply put, this is just too many points for a team like Washington State, one that is capable of putting up a ton of points.
