The Texas Longhorns are hosting the TCU?Horned Frogs in Big 12 college football action later today. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX?Sports 1. The college football odds for the game have the Longhorns favored to pick up the victory at home.

This may or may not be the final game for Charlie Strong as the coach of the Longhorns. That entire situation has been a mess seemingly since he took over and it appears like he could finally be taken out of the position. Earlier this week it was reported he would be out of a job, then he did his normal weekly press conference while apparently still having a job. 

That resulted in a standing ovation from his players, but when it comes down to it as much of a likeable guy Strong is fails to showcase itself into wins. Another loss here would cement Texas into a losing season and really strike up the conversations again.

Then there’s the report that LSU is fixing to sign Tom Herman to be their football coach, that has obviously been the top overall target for the Longhorns if they had moved on from Strong. So clearly the whole situation down in Austin is a mess and who knows if it will end well for anybody involved.

One thing that has been well for the Longhorns has been the play of D’Onta Foreman, he has a legitimate shot to reach and pass the 2,000-yard mark on the ground in this game. Had Texas not been so bad he’s be getting all kinds of Heisman talk but despite his efforts, the Longhorns continue to be a bad football team. 

Foreman has rushed for no less than 131 yards on the ground this season and he’s coming off a 51-carry performance against West Virginia that saw him pile up 250 yards on the ground. Strong obviously knows that Foreman is his best chance to win football games, now it will come down to whether or not TCU can slow him down.

Texas finds a way in this one.
