College Football Odds
Louisville -14.5
Total: 69.5 points
Louisville looked very strong in its opening game of the season, pasting Charlotte 70-14 in a tuneup game for the Cardinals. Louisville scored 28 points in each of the first two quarters in that game and Lamar Jackson had an insane game with 286 yards passing with six touchdowns, he added 119 yards rushing and two more scores as the Cardinals rolled up 663 yards total in the contest.
Syracuse should pose a bigger threat for Louisville, the Orange beat Colgate 33-7 in the season-opener last week. Syracuse actually trailed 7-0 in that game but was able to score the final 33 points of the game, Eric Dungey finished with 355 yards through the air and two touchdowns, Amba Etta-Tawo hauled in 12 passes for 210 yards in the contest.
Colgate finished with just 45 yards rushing in the game as the Orange proved to be strong on that front, allowing just 1.4 yards per carry.
Everyone knows how good Louisville’s offense can be, but what will Syracuse bring in this one? First-year coach Dino Babers runs an offense that is certainly up-tempo, against Colgate they ran 81 plays for better than 550 yards on offense.
With both teams being able to get up and down the field, it will be the defense that steps up that could be a major factor in this one.
