The Maryland Terrapins are hosting the Michigan State Spartans in college basketball action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. The college basketball odds for the game have the Terps favored to pick up the win in this one.

Maryland looks to have survived a recent skid where they lost three games in a row. Coincidentally, one of those losses came to Wisconsin, the Badgers only win in a two-week span that has seen them drop from contending for a Big Ten title. Purdue has won the conference and everyone else is jockeying for position, which makes this a big game for the Terps.

Michigan State is using this game for a different reason as they need another resume boost to make the NCAA Tournament. Tom Izzo’s team is scrappy and has won two of the last three, but they’ve lost each of the last two contests on the road at Purdue and Illinois most recently.

The Terps are going to need Melo Trimble to have a good game. Michigan State’s guards are young and Trimble should be able to pace the Terps and lead them to a victory here at home. Maryland is 11-5 at home this season with some head scratchers (most recently Iowa) and actually has better overall numbers on the road, but this is a key game for them. Michigan State is not a good road team, going just 2-6 away from home this season.

Maryland should be able to take care of business here.
